Atletico Madrid occupy the top position in LaLiga, ahead of Sunday’s El Clasico clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Diego Simeone’s men beat Real Sociedad 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday night, to move up to first place.
The hosts took the lead through Diego Godin in the 45th minute, before Filipe Luis made the points safe in the second half.
Atletico now have 19 points, one more than second-placed Barcelona, who welcome Real to the Nou Camp on Sunday.
Julen Lopetegui’s men go into the clash in 8th place with 14 points.
