Kwara: Police confirm kidnap of Kwara Bishop, wife, driver

The police in Kwara State has on Monday confirmed the abduction of Bishop of Jebba Diocese, Reverend Oluwaseun Aderogba, his wife and driver by unknown gunmen.

According to a statement on Monday by the Command’s spokesman, ASP

Adewale Osifeso, the victims were kidnapped on Sunday night.

According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that the victim’s vehicle developed a mechanical fault while travelling from Yewa, Ogun State, to Jebba en route an isolated area along New Oyo/Ogbomoso Expressway.

He said the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations at the state police command has commenced rescue operations.

He said the tactical teams of the command’s anti-kidnapping squad, Ambush Squad, Puff Adder, Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) and conventional police personnel as well as local hunters and vigilantes are all involved in the rescue operations.
