The Presidential aide and former Senator made the plea on Saturday in a press briefing at the NUJ Press Centre in Uyo as part of activities to mark the June 12, Democracy day celebration.
Enang who urged political parties to downplay politicking said the atmosphere of insecurity in the country has become tensed such that all hands must be on deck to address the situation.
He said such would help to restore peace in the country, adding that politicking thrives in an atmosphere of peace.
His words, “The challenges of insecurity, economy, unemployment and other matters have become so tensed and have become so big that Political parties should downplay political actions and up-play the issue of managing security situation in the country.

“I, therefore, call on PDP, APC and others political parties to sink all differences at the federal government level, state and local government levels so that we can join hands together with the federal government to tackle insecurity and economy.’
The Senior Special Adviser said it was time for him to bury his political differences with Governor Udom Emmanuel and work with him adding that politicking can only strive in an atmosphere of peace
“A lot of people will be surprised that I will come and not speak about Governor, Udom Emmanuel and the PDP administration in Akwa Ibom State.
“It’s time for me to work together, stay together, abandon all differences, sink political opinion averse to each other and work together with the government of Akwa Ibom State
“You can only have a state to politick in, a country to politick in, when there is peace. We can contest an election and talk about what is right or wrong in a country where there is peace. At this stage we are challenged and when we are challenged all will have to join hands together”
