This is coming barely 48 hours after an ambush on military vehicles along Damasak road leading to the death of 3 soldiers, the villagers said.
Malam Modu Gana, a resident of Magumeri, who spoke to Our Correspondent in Maiduguri, the said, the vigilante and members of the civilian joint task force could not confront them as they were in large numbers.
A member of the CJTF, Umar Ibrahim who spoke to our reporter said they have also received reports of ISWAP members mobilising around some villages in the northern Borno.
“The Soldiers are aware of that, and are also mobilizing to ensure that they (terrorists) do not have a field day in the event that they plan to attack any village or military base,” Umar said
Sources from international organisations operating in the northern Borno area also confirmed the report, however, there was no official confirmation from the military authorities.
Several attempts to get the Army spokesman, Col Sagir Musa to speak did not yield result as his phone could not be reached.
