The call which came on Monday is the result of an ongoing threat by some aggrieved members of the party to drag it to court, following the outcome of both the ward and local government congresses that took place in the state.
The aggrieved critical stakeholders of the party had recently frowned at the way and manner the congresses were conducted in the state.
They claimed the conduct was “undemocratic and accused the appeal committee of the Congresses of failing to insert the right peg in the right hole.
Rather than coming down to the state to attend to petitions that emanated from the Congresses, the committee, according to the aggrieved members, decided to distance themselves from the state, a situation which they described as “unfair”.
The aggrieved members were led by Abdullahi Ade and Sani Abdullahi were also surcharged during the Congresses.
“We are against the consensus because, in the first place, we were not even carried along. They only came out to announce to the public that the Congresses were conducted through consensus.”
”Sad that the appeal committee has not deemed it fit to visit the state and do the needful, the need for the leadership of the party at the national level to wade in by saving the party from collapsing, they believed can no longer be overemphasized.
When reached for comment, El-Sudi, who is the incumbent chairman of the party in the state, warned the aggrieved members to as a matter of urgency source an alternative means of resolving their grievances than dragging the party to the court.
Suggesting the internal mechanisms of “solving problems in the party” as the surest way of addressing their grievances, approaching the court of law, he believed would be inimical to the aggrieved members.
El-Sudi who debunked all the allegations levelled against the appeal committee by the aggrieved members said ” it is their right to go to court, but we have internal mechanisms of solving problems. ”
Should the members in question fail to exhaust “those internal mechanisms” he said “then, they are in trouble because there are certain disciplinary measures that can be taking against them” stating that “but it is the constitutional right to every Nigerian to go to court. “
