Criminals connive with traditional rulers, security agents in Bauchi – Gov Mohammed alleges

Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has alleged that criminals, including bandits, connive with some traditional rulers and security agents to perpetrate criminal activities in the state.

The governor stated this while addressing the State Executive Council (SEC) members at the Government House, Bauchi.

Mohammed disclosed that some bad elements within security agencies also collaborate with criminals to foment troubles in some communities in the state.

“These people are coming and they are conniving with our traditional institutions and even bad eggs within the security agencies,” the governor alleged.

According to him, his administration is having sleepless nights over renewed criminal activities in the state.

“Because of security, we are having sleepless nights. There is no time I am not talking about security. We will have to change our style.

“We have to work very hard because everything in this world is about life and property. If you are dead, then there is nothing in it.

“The fact that we are being mentioned as the most peaceful state in northern Nigeria is giving us more challenge,” he said.

The governor then charged members of the newly inaugurated SEC, including commissioners and special advisers to always be alert and security conscious in their various local governments, saying that, “you are my representatives in your own right.”
