APC Claims Victory in Yobe South Senatorial District Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the Yobe South senatorial election.

Senator Bomai of the APC garnered 69,596 votes, defeating his closest rival, Hon Halilu Mazagane of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 68,885 votes. Yerima Adamu of ADC obtained 652 votes, Jauro Ishaku of Labour Party received 471 votes, Isa Musa of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) tallied 3,277 votes, and Maisambo Barde of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) scored 448 votes.

Dr. Abacha Meleni, the Returning Officer at the collation center in Federal College of Education Technical Potiskum, declared the result, stating, “I, Abacha Meleni, Returning Officer for the 2023 Yobe South Senatorial District Election, election held on 15th of April, 2023, announce that Bomai Ibrahim Mohammed of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”
