Tambuwal Appoints 38 Perm Secs and DGs in Sokoto State Prior to Handover

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state has sworn in 23 permanent secretaries and 15 Director Generals, just 27 days before handing over power to the newly elected governor. Among those appointed are his Senior Special Assistant and the Director, Press in the Deputy Governor’s office, Abdulnaseer Abubakar Sayinna and Aminu Abubakar.

The appointments come at a time when the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in Sokoto state has criticized the Tambuwal-led government over the delay in salary payments, non-remittance of deductions from workers’ salaries to their respective unions and cooperatives, and challenges in paying pensions and gratuities to retired civil servants.
