Police warn political parties against disruption of Bauchi tribunal

The Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Habu Ahmadu Sani, has warned political party supporters not to disrupt the sitting of the governorship election petition tribunal which resumes today for the adoption of final written address.

The Commissioner of Police gave the warning while reacting to accusations by the leadership of political parties in the state of alleged plans to disrupt the today tribunal’s sitting.

“It is good that there are accusations and counter accusations, this will enable the Police to effectively perform their constitutional duties of providing security to all irrespective of status, political affliction and position.

“We will deploy our men to all strategic locations within the metropolis.

“We will also give adequate cover to all the tribunal officials particularly the judges to and from the court so that they will be able to discharge their duties without any fear or intimidation,” the commissioner said.
