Police in Jigawa State have arrested a 65-year-old man identified as Ibrahim Suleiman of Tsigi Quarters in Kiyawa local Government in connection with the kidnapping of an old woman.
The spokesman of the command DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest
He said, “With regard to the abduction of Ibrahim Gaya’s mother a 65-year-old man, Ibrahim Suleiman of Tsigi Quarters, Kiyawa LG, was arrested in connection with the offence”
Recall that it was reported that unknown gunmen on Tuesday kidnapped the 70 years old mother of the Jigawa Central Senatorial District candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC,) Tijjani Ibrahim Gaya.
He said the suspect was arrested after he was sighted in one of the vehicles the gunmen carried out their oppression in.
Shiisu said an investigation is ongoing and efforts are on to rescue the victim and arrest other suspects.
