Delta Third Force To Contest Elections Under AAC

A group of politicians from different political parties in Delta State, under the aegis of the Delta Third Force, has decided to contest for various political positions in African Action Congress (AAC).

The group of 22 politicians noted that they took the decision because they are “fed up with the status quo of Delta State and Nigeria and have resolved to do something meaningful about it”.

According to the group, the decision to adopt AAC came after series of consultations, meetings and voting to determine the party to adopt.

“We resolved this by all aspirants fairly, transparently and democratically voting for one of their parties as the sole party that all aspirants will stand with for the 2019 elections. The majority of votes favoured the African Action Congress (AAC),” the group said in a statement.

The group stressed that its members desire to “revive” Delta State and would, therefore, contest for positions in the state assembly, as well as for the governorship seat of the state.

“We therefore further resolved to collectively, strategically and productively restore hope to our people through good and effective governance from the Government House, highly distinguished people-oriented representation from the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly from all 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State with purpose-driven leadership.”

AAC is the party formed by Omoyele Sowore, founder of the internationally reputable online newspaper, SaharaReporters.

Sowore, who is contesting for the office of the president in the 2019 elections, has visited not less than 28 states to garner support for his ambition.

New York-based Sowore, in his latest return to Nigeria, announced that Africa is about to witness a revolution that would see young people take governance from the old and develop it to a world-class continent.
