The Kaduna State Government has confirmed the kidnapping of about 10 students in Kachia Local Government Area of the state. The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, made this known in a statement released on Tuesday in Kaduna.
According to preliminary reports, 10 students of Government Secondary School, Awon (a day secondary school) were kidnapped on Monday, but the exact location of the incident is yet to be confirmed. The government is awaiting detailed reports that will clarify whether the incident occurred within the school premises or elsewhere.
The Kaduna State Government has been making efforts to tackle the issue of banditry in the state, and this recent incident shows the need for continued efforts in ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
