UCL: This is why I’m back – Cristiano Ronaldo reacts to 2-1 win over Villarreal

Manchester United superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has said he returned to the club to score goals and make history again.

The Portuguese also thanked fans of the club for helping the team throughout their 2-1 win over Villarreal in the Champions League.

The Red Devils came back from 1-0 down to beat the Spanish club 2-1 at Old Trafford, keeping their chances of surviving the group stage alive.

Alex Telles equalised for the Red Devils, before a stoppage time strike from Cristiano Ronaldo sent Old Trafford into jubilation.

United lost their opening Champions League group stage match against Young Boys and were under pressure to return to winning ways against the Yellow Submarine.

“Now everything is possible, everything is open and we believe we will go through,” The Portugal captain told BT Sport.

“This is why I came back, I missed this club a lot. I made history in this club, and I want to do it again.

“I have to say thank you to all of them [the fans], not just for me, but to push the team which will be very important, especially this season.”
