Nigerian troops nab Boko Haram commander wives, spy

The Nigerian military has announced the arrest of wives of a Boko Haram commander, and a spy.

Four other terrorists and the wives of the spy, Aishatu Manye and Kelune Mate were captured at Gajingi in Madagali LGA of Adamawa State.

This was contained in a statement on Sunday by John Enenche, Coordinator, Defence Media Operations.

The Boko Haram spy, Kawalu, was nabbed during a Jumaat prayer at Michika Central Mosque.

A fighter was also captured in the aftermath of an encounter at Miyanti area in Bama LGA of Borno State.

Also, the trio of Mohammed Babagana, Modu Jugudun and Alhaji Usman surrendered to troops of Delta Company at Strong Response Area Pulka in Gwoza LGA of Borno.

Similarly, one Mustapha Kori surrendered to troops of Army Super Camp 11 Gamboru in Ngala LGA of Borno.

The statement added that in the month of June, troops rescued 35 civilians from Boko Haram/ISWAP captivity.

They include 18 women, 16 children and one adult male.

“The rescued children were promptly administered with Polio vaccine while the women were administered with first aid”, Enenche said.
