The Police Command in Kano state Thursday confirmed the arrest of a 26- year-old man, Aminu Inuwa, a resident of
Jakada Quarters in Kano metropolis for allegedly slaughtering his 17-year-old wife,
Safara’u Aminu to death.
The Command’s spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa who confirmed the arrest said the suspect buried his wife after he had killed her in his compound.
He said the incident occured on Tuesday after mild misunderstanding between the
couple.
According to him, “On April 3 at about 11am the command received a report that on April 2 at about 12pm one Aminu Inuwa killed his wife Safara’u Aminu about 17years old, after killing her the suspect dug a hole and buried her inside his house.
Haruna Said on getting the information the police quickly moved into action and arrested the suspect.
He said the police had exhumed the corpsenand took it to Murtala Muhammad Specialist
Hospital Kano for autopsy, while the suspect is currently under investigation at the state
CID unit.
The PPRO said during investigation, the suspect had confessed to the crime. He said the suspect would be charged to
court as soon as investigations are concluded.
