Let’s actualize Okowa’s vision – Lawmaker, Ogbimi tells Councillors in Delta

The member representing Isoko North Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Jude Omena Ogbimi has urged Councilors in Isoko North Legislative Arm to work with Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to actualize his vision so that he can move the state to enviable heights.

The lawmaker made the call when he hosted the Isoko North Councillors at his country home in Otor-Igho Community.

He asked his kinsmen to prioritise the vision of the Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, saying they must work with him to ensure his vision is actualized.

Determined to ensure that his constituents at the grassroots are well represented, Ogbimi promised to organise a retreat for the 20 Councillors in Isoko North Legislative Arm.

He stressed the need for his constituents to get effective representation both at the grassroots and state levels.

“I thank you all my Councillors who are representatives of our constituents at the Local Government level. I also commend you all for giving me your mandate to represent you all at the Delta State House of Assembly.

“As Councillors, you are the engine room of the Local Government and anyone underestimating you is hindering the growth and development of our people at the grassroots level.

“From time to time, I will be checking on you representatives of our people at the grassroots level alongside your Chairman.

“I want to make sure you people get whatever that is due to you and let’s work closely to ensure that our people are represented effectively. Whenever you are shortchanged, do not hesitate to come to me.

“In a month’s time, I will be organizing retreats for you all, where you will be trained on Legislative proceedings on how to represent our people effectively at the ward level as well to attract dividends of democracy to our people at the Local Government level. Also let us endeavour to love one another and jettison envy, discrimination and sycophancy.”

The Leader of Isoko North Legislative Arm, Mr. Francis Udubrai, and Mr. Obibi Efeghogho, Deputy Leader of the Arm commended Hon. Ogbimi for deeming it fit to host them and also pleaded with the lawmaker to invite them to the State House of Assembly on one of its plenary to have more knowledge of legislative proceedings.
