Kogi Governor Pledges to Pursue Justice for Victims of Community Attacks

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has promised to apprehend and bring to justice the perpetrators of recent attacks on communities in Oganenigu Ward of Dekina LGA. The governor stated that the military, police, and other security agencies have been mobilized to restore peace and contain the violence in the affected areas.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Promise Emmanuel, Governor Bello emphasized his administration’s commitment to ensuring the security of lives and properties while combating crime in the state. He warned criminals seeking to destabilize Kogi State that their efforts would be met with strong resistance.

As the state works to rehabilitate victims of the attacks, Governor Bello advised residents against taking matters into their own hands. An expanded meeting was held at the Ata Igala’s Palace in Idah, involving security heads, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN, Kogi and Nasarawa Chapters), local government chairpersons, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders.

Governor Yahaya Bello’s decisive response to the community attacks in Kogi State is expected to help restore confidence among residents and deter future incidents. By collaborating with various stakeholders, including security heads, local government officials, traditional rulers, and representatives from the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, the state government aims to foster a sense of unity and collective responsibility in addressing security challenges.
