Ivory Coast vs Algeria: How Didier Drogba reacted as CĂ´te d’Ivoire crashes out of AFCON 2019

Ivory Coast legend, Didier Drogba, has reacted after Algeria dumped Côte d’Ivoire out from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Egypt on Thursday.

Sofiane Feghouli had given Algeria a 1-0 lead in the first half before Jonathan Kodjia equalised for Ivory Coast in the second half as the match eventually ended 1-1 after 120 minutes.

However, the North Africans defeated the West Africans 4-3 on penalties to qualify for the semi-final, where they will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday.

Reacting, Drogba said that he was proud with Ivory Coast national team despite their defeat to Algeria.

The Chelsea legend tweeted: “Shots on goal do not always reflect the quality of a player. I’m proud of you, my younger brothers.

“Proud of my country, proud of our two stars. It goes up it goes down we’re together, that’s the Ivory 🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮 Coast. Let’s get it together 🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮 tomorrow.”
