Insecurity: CNG, Ulama pray for divine intervention

Irked by the current security challenges in the country, the Coalition of Northern Groups in collaboration with the Ulama Council of Kano on Friday, organised a prayer session for God’s intervention.

The CNG spokesman, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, in a statement explained that the prayer sessions are to be conducted in all the states of Northern Nigeria.

According to the statement, the prayers would seek divine help for the success of the ongoing operation of troops against the activities of bandits and other criminal gangs in other parts of the country.

The Allassan Santata Mosque, Koki, Kano would be the take off phase of the prayer session on Friday, according to the statement.

The statement added that the prayer session was led by Imam Gwani Alyu Saleh, chairman of Qur’anic Reciters of Nigeria and coordinated by CNG’s national leader, Balarabe Rufai.

The statement further explained that the session was attended by dozens of renowned Ulama and Quran memorizers and top reciters, who prayed God to grant victory to the Nigerian troops currently engaging the bandits to bring peace to the land.

The prayers, according to the statement, were also offered for the safety of innocent Nigerians currently in captivity as well as total disarmament, disengagement, demobilization, reconciliation and resettlement across the North and Nigeria in general.

“The sessions are expected to be a continuous process every Friday in all northern states until a final declaration of victory is achieved,” the statement explained.
