The Kaduna State Government has lifted the curfew in Sabon Garin Nasarawa-Tirkaniya, Chikun Local Government Area, which was imposed last Monday after a clash between local hunters and gangsters resulted in the deaths of two people.
Initially, a 24-hour curfew was imposed, which was later relaxed to 12 hours (from 7 pm to 7 am). However, the government has now completely removed the curfew as of Saturday, April 8, 2023. Military and police will continue to patrol the area to ensure the restoration of normalcy.
In a statement, the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, urged residents to carry on with their daily activities and avoid actions that could disrupt public peace, as these would be dealt with according to the law.
