Alex Badeh: What security agents must do about killing of ex-Defense Chief – Ekweremadu

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has reacted to the murder of a former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh.

Badeh was killed by unknown gunmen along the Abuja-Keffi expressway while returning from his farm on Tuesday.

Ekweremadu has now urged security operatives to launch a full investigation into the death of the former service chief.

Speaking after Senators observed a minute silence during Thursday’s plenary, the lawmaker lamented the murder of the former Defence Chief.

He said: He went through this risky profession and survived, only to be killed by the same people he fought to protect. It is even sadder that these killers may not be found, based on past cases.

“It is time we ensure that those who kill people are found and punished. For such a great country in Africa, we must ensure the safety of our citizens.

“I appeal to the relevant authorities to get to the root of this matter. The perpetrators will not go unpunished.”
