8 Kidnapped Kaduna Female Students Escape From Terrorists’ Den

Eight female students kidnapped from Government Secondary School, Awon, Kaduna State, have successfully escaped from their captors’ hideout. The abduction occurred on April 3 in the Awon general area of Kachia LGA, Kaduna State.

Sources revealed that the students managed to flee from a dense forest near the Kaduna-Niger interstate boundaries, where they had been held hostage. After walking for several days, they eventually reached a safe location where they could seek assistance.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, reported that human intelligence sources informed the state government of the students’ escape. Consequently, Governor Nasir El-Rufai ordered their immediate evacuation. Aruwan added that terrorists were actively searching for the students, necessitating prompt action.

The eight students have been safely evacuated to a military facility, where they are currently receiving medical attention. Governor El-Rufai commended the students for their bravery and resilience during their escape.
