
Kovacic spent last season with the Blues on loan from the Santiago Bernabeu and was a regular under former Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri.
This is coming after Real Madrid on Monday gave Chelsea seven days to complete a deal for Kovacic.
Despite an impending two-window transfer ban, Chelsea have the option of signing the 25-year-old as he’s already a registered player at the club.
However, they must do so by July 1.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are yet to reach a decision on the midfielder’s future.
