Transfer: Chelsea striker joins EPL rivals ahead of Brighton clash

Chelsea has confirmed that striker, Michy Batshuayi, has left the club to join Premier League side, Crystal Palace, on a season-long loan ahead of their Premier League opener against Brighton on Monday night.
Batshuayi signed a one-year contract extension with Chelsea before he left Frank Lampard’s side for Palace.
Chelsea disclosed this in a statement via its official website on Thursday evening.
The statement read in part: “Michy Batshuayi has today agreed to a one-year contract extension at Chelsea and joined Crystal Palace on loan for the 2020/21 campaign.”
Batshuayi joined Chelsea from Marseille in the summer of 2016.
The Belgium international has netted 25 goals in 77 appearances for Chelsea, including six last season.
Batshuayi’s latest loan move to Palace sees him return to the South London club where he spent four months in the first part of 2019, scoring six goals in 13 appearances.
