Tottenham vs Arsenal: Arteta reveals why he dropped Saka for London Derby

Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta, has given reasons for dropping Bukayo Saka against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The 18-year-old is enjoying a fine season with the Gunners and has scored four times and provided 10 assists so far.

However, Arteta, dropped Saka to the bench for their 2-1 defeat at Spurs, preferring to start with Nicolas Pepe.

He was asked to explain his decision ahead of the match and suggested he is merely resting the teenager.

“He’s played a lot of games, we have a lot of games coming up, we have to rotate some players, we had some issues during the week.

“Every week will be a little bit different,” Arteta told Sky Sports.

Saka recently signed a new four-year deal at Arsenal, which will keep him at the club until 2024.
