Real Madrid: Zidane takes final decision on Sergio Ramos’ future at Bernabeu

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane has told captain, Sergio Ramos, that he wants him to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu in this summer’s transfer window.

DAILY POST had reported that Ramos is set to leave Real Madrid after clashing with the club’s president, Florentino Perez, on several occasion.

The Spain international could leave Zidane’s men after 14 years at the club to join Premier League giants, Liverpool or Manchester United this summer ahead of next season.

However, Marca is now reporting that Zidane held a long discussion with Ramos at the end of the recent Spanish season in an attempt to persuade the 33-year-old to remain at Madrid next season.

The Spain newspaper claimed that Zidane “reacted positively” to his captain’s doubts and will make every effort to create an atmosphere that will convince the experienced centre-back to stay with the Los Blancos.

The report also claimed that the Frenchman believes Ramos is vital to the club’s success both on and off the pitch.

Ramos has made over 600 appearances for Real Madrid since joining the La Liga giants from Sevilla in 2005.
