Power outage hits Yola, Adamawa capital

The recent heavy downpour experienced in Yola, the Adamawa State capital has destroyed critical electricity infrastructures, thereby plunging hundreds of residents into darkness.

Residents in many parts of the city will continue to experience power outage pending when the electrical facilities are fixed by the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC).

A statement released by the management of YEDC on Friday confirmed the power outage, noting that Jambutu feeder is out of service due to flooding in the sub-station.

“The areas affected are Numan road, FGGC Yola, Nasarawo, Jambutu, Bachure, Demsawa, Kofare, Sengare Bode and Wurro Jebbe.

“Our technical team is on top of the situation. We apologised for any inconveniences, this might have caused,” YEDC begged.

”The hope and prayer of the electricity consumers in the affected areas is that the problem will be rectified as soon as possible.”
