Nigeria vs Libya: Rohr reveals who will captain Super Eagles

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has cleared the air on who will wear the captain’s armband against Libya, during Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Rohr has chosen Ahmed Musa, who captained the Nigerian team against Seychelles, ahead of Ogenyi Onazi.

Onazi was appointed vice-captain last year, after Musa dropped the armband due to pressing family issues, which eventually led to the Al-Nasr forward divorcing his first wife.

However, the winger will lead the team out at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, in the absence of main captain, John Obi Mikel.

“Musa will captain the team against Libya.

“He was captain against Seychelles and in the absence of our captain, he will captain on Saturday.

“Getting a win is our main priority against Libya,” Rohr told reporters after training on Thursday.
