Nigeria vs Cameroon: Jay-Jay Okocha blames one player after Super Eagles’ 3-2 AFCON win

Super Eagles legend, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, has blamed Chelsea defender, Kenneth Omeruo for the first goal Nigeria conceived against Cameroon at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, round of 16 encounter, on Saturday.

Two goals from Odion Ighalo and a strike from Alex Iwobi ensured Nigeria defeated the Indomitable Lions to book a place in the quarter-final.

However, Stephane Bahoken and Clinton Njie did score for the AFCON defending champions.

But Okocha said Omeruo should have intercepted the ball before Bahoken and clear it out.

“Very poor defending from Omeruo,” Okocha told SuperSport.

“He should have been able to intercept that ball ahead of Bahoken. And the striker got the ball ahead of him.”

Nigeria will now tackle the winner between Egypt and South Africa in the quarter-final stage in few days’ time.
