Man City vs Chelsea: Fernandinho speaks on his new role in Guardiola’s squad

Manchester City midfielder, Fernandinho has spoken on his new role at the club ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea on Saturday evening at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola had demanded that the Brazilian play a central defence position for the Citizens this season, after battling with injuries this campaign.

Speaking on his new role, Fernandinho said he feels good playing in central defence but admitted that he can improve in an unfamiliar position.

“I feel good at the new position,” the 34-year-old told Man City’s official website on Thursday.

“Of course, I have the help of my teammates and manager. It’s been great for me, trying to do my best as always since I signed for City.

“Sometimes you feel you have to improve a little bit – but that’s the beauty of football. You can. Every morning, you can make it happen.”
