Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has identified Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibali and Leicester City’s Harry Maguire, as possible recruitments this summer, according to Independent UK.
Solskjaer sees his centre-half as a key area for improvement amid what is planned to be an extensive overhaul at Old Trafford.
Before his dismissal, former manager Jose Mourinho had insisted the position had to be improved upon.
Koulibaly has long been a desired target for the Red Devils but sources told the newspaper that the current asking price of over £90m is far too much.
There are also options of signing Internazionale’s Milab Skriniar or Tobi Alderweireld from Tottenham.
But United would prefer to go for younger players who can slot into the team right away, as well as have the scope to improve.
