EPL: Guardiola confirms Aguero’s next club

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has revealed that Sergio Aguero is close to signing for Barcelona.

Aguero will leave Man City on a free transfer this summer after a decade at the Premier League champions.

The Argentine striker scored twice in his final Premier League appearance for Man City as Guardiola’s men sealed a 5-0 victory against Everton on the final day of the season at Etihad.

Speaking to BBC’s Match of the Day, Guardiola said that Aguero is likely to be linking up with his national teammate, Lionel Messi at Camp Nou next season.

“Maybe I reveal a secret,” Guardiola said. “Maybe he is close to agreeing a deal for the club of my heart… for Barcelona.

“He is going to be playing alongside the best player of all time, Messi.”

“I am pretty sure he is going to enjoy it. And maybe Barcelona are stronger and stronger with him on the pitch.”
