EPL: Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Gomes after horrific injury against Tottenham

Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message to Everton midfielder, Andre Gomes following the player’s horrific injury during the Toffees’ 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

DAILY POST recalls that Gomes suffered the horrific leg injury following a challenge by Tottenham’s Son Heung-min during both side’s 1-1 Premier League draw at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Gomes was immediately taken to hospital in an ambulance, after being treated on the pitch.

Referee Martin Atkinson originally handed Son a yellow card, but quickly upgraded his decision to a red card, after seeing the extent of the damage to Gomes.

Gomes underwent surgery on Monday and Everton have confirmed they expect him to make a full recovery.

Reacting to the development, Ronaldo, a fellow country teammate with Gomes, in a post on his official Instagram page, wished the 26-year-old a speedy recovering.

Posting a picture of himself and Gomes on international duty for Portugal, Ronaldo prayed for a fast recovery and vowed Gomes “will come back stronger”.
