CP Musa Yusuf Garba Takes Charge as Commissioner of Police for Kaduna Command

Following the directive of Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, and the posting of new Commissioners of Police to various Commands, CP Musa Yusuf Garba has assumed duty as the 41st Commissioner of Police for the Kaduna Command on May 2nd, 2023. The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Muhammad Jalige, on Thursday.

Taking over from the previous Commissioner of Police, CP Yekini Adio Ayoku, who was recently promoted to AIG and deployed to a higher office, CP Musa Yusuf Garba is fully aware of the challenging task ahead of him, having served in different capacities within the Kaduna Police Command in the past.

CP Musa, a native of Zamfara State, is an alumnus of Usman Danfodio University Sokoto and was enlisted into the Nigeria Police as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on May 18th, 1992. Throughout his career, he has held various operational, investigative, and administrative positions in the Force.

As the new Commissioner of Police for Kaduna Command, CP Musa Yusuf Garba has called on the officers and men in the Command to be prepared for the task ahead, emphasizing that criminals must not be allowed any space to operate. He has also called for synergy among all security agencies in the state and for the public to extend their support to his administration.

CP Musa Yusuf Garba has been the recipient of multiple awards and is a fellow of several institutes, including the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS), Institute of Security Nigeria (ISN), Institute of Criminological Studies and Security Management (ICSSM), and Institute of Strategic Public Negotiations (ISPN).
