Champions League: Neymar criticised after Man City crashes PSG out

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar, has come under attack after his side was defeated 2-0 by Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Man City eliminated PSG from the Champions League semi-final second-leg tie following Riyad Mahrez’s brace at Etihad.
Pep Guardiola’s side qualified for the final on a 4-1 aggregate win, having won the first-leg 2-1 in Paris last week.
However, Jerome Rothen, a former PSG player, has now criticized Neymar for his display against Man City, adding that he expected more from the Brazilian.
Rothen said PSG needs to rethink renewing Neymar’s contract after their latest setback.
“[Neymar] He’s a genius, okay, I am the first to say it, but when he’s in that frame of mind, losing one out of every two balls and when he doesn’t try hard for the team and blames a young player like [Mitchel] Bakker, who could have played his best half of football in a PSG shirt, that is unacceptable,” said Rothen told RMC Sport.
“We expected more, and I am the first to criticize him, but you can’t just criticize Neymar.”
He added, “The club wants to renew his contract, but I think they need to rethink it.
“When he plays badly like today, you have to tell him. The sporting director [Leonardo] is flattering him by talking about a contract renewal.”
