CBN Boosts Financial Literacy and Inclusion with Launch of e-Learning Platform, SabiMoni

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has made a significant stride in its mission to enhance financial inclusion in the country with the launch of its Financial Literacy e-Learning Platform, aptly named “SabiMoni.” The platform’s unveiling was conducted in Abuja by the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele.

Emefiele expressed the apex bank’s determination to achieve the target of 95 percent financial inclusion by next year. He noted that the SabiMoni platform would play a pivotal role in this drive, particularly as more Nigerians start utilizing the platform.

In addition to the launch of SabiMoni, Emefiele committed the CBN to swiftly resolve the ongoing dispute between Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) and telecommunications companies over the distribution of Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) revenue.

He emphasized the importance of USSD as a key tool for financial inclusion. He further stressed that the CBN would not allow any disruption in its services due to disagreements over income sharing between the banks and telecommunications companies.
