Angry mob sets two suspected armed robbers ablaze in Delta

Angry mob has set two suspected armed robbers ablaze at Sublane Junction in Mosogar Community, Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The suspects had allegedly robbed a truck driver and his wife and dispossessed them of their mobile phones and unspecified amount of money at Uduaka area in the town.

During the robbery operation, they attempted to rape the truck driver’s thirteen year old daughter (name withheld) DAILY POST reports.

The truck driver was said to have raised alarm and the suspected armed robbers fled into the bush.

The alarm attracted the angry mob as well as the local vigilante in the Community, who promptly laid ambush in the area.

Minutes later, the suspected armed robbers were apprehended by the angry mob and they were quickly set ablaze.

When contacted for comments, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Adeyinka Adeleke confirmed the report in a telephone chat with our correspondent in Warri.

CP Adeleke said ”it is true”, noting that the incident occurred two days ago.
