Ado-Doguwa Announces Bid for Speaker Position in Nigeria’s 10th National Assembly

Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, the Majority Leader of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, has formally announced his intention to run for the Speaker position in the upcoming 10th National Assembly. Representing the Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in Kano State, Ado-Doguwa made the declaration during a press conference in Abuja.

Ado-Doguwa recounted his previous decision to step down for Femi Gbajabiamila in the 9th House of Assembly, emphasizing his extensive experience and capacity to deliver on the expectations of Nigerians. He expressed his commitment to working with his colleagues and the Nigerian people to ensure the best possible outcomes for the country.

The Majority Leader stated that his ambition hinges on the condition that the party zones the speakership position to the North-West Zone, his immediate constituency. Ado-Doguwa is optimistic about becoming the Speaker to implement the Renewed Hope 2023-Action Plan for a Better Nigeria, led by President-elect Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ado-Doguwa’s declaration for the speakership comes amidst an ongoing trial for alleged crimes.
