Abia: Again, APC reschedules governorship primary election

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has again rescheduled its governorship primary election in Abia State to Tuesday, October 2, 2018.

Recall that the All Progressives Congress, APC, had earlier shifted the gubernatorial primary election from September 29, to October 1st, 2018.

Announcing the postponement while addressing leaders, stakeholders and newsmen at the APC state Secretariat in Umuahia, on Monday, chairman of the Electoral Committee and former Speaker of Edo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. David Iyoha, attributed the postponement to the late arrival of the committee.

Iyoha said, the exercise will commence early and assured aspirants of a peaceful and transparent primary election on Tuesday

The APC chieftain said, “I appeal to you, by tomorrow those to collect sensitive materials for this areas should be here by 6:am. By 6:am tomorrow, we will be here to distribute this materials to the appropriate places.

“Voting will commence by 7:30 am, especially those around the town. While those in the far places, by the time is about 8:am,voting will commence”.

“We will do accreditation, you vote and then you go way. And all the party’s agents will do the rest”.

“For the ward level, results will be collated, send to LG level, and from local government level, all the results will be sent to the state for final collation”.

“We assure you of very smooth process, free and fair”.

DAILY POST reports that members of the Electoral committee for Abia APC governorship primary election, were, Rt. Hon. David Iyoha (chairman), Nasiru Adamu Jegiri (Secretary), Hon. Sam Aderogboye (Member), Musa Husaini Shelleng (Member), Haija Amina Mohammed (Member).
