On Monday, the results were announced. The All Progressives Congress (APC) won two of the seats, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the other one.
The commission said Habib Mustapha of the PDP had won the Senate seat for Jigawa South-West.
Sabo Nakudu, an incumbent senator for the district who ran on the All Progressive Congress (APC) platform, lost to Mustapha.
INEC’s Returning Officer, Usman Haruna, said Mustapha got 153,731 votes, while Nakudu got 134,802.
Babangida Hussaini, who was running for the APC in the Jigawa North-West senatorial district, won the seat for his area.
His opponent, Saminu Turaki of the PDP, got 134,199 votes, but he got 187,049 votes. Ahmed Garko, a professor, was in charge of tallying the votes and announcing the results for the district.
Also, Abdulhamid Mallammadori, who was running for senator in Jigawa North-East for the APC, got 136, 977 votes, which was more than enough to beat Nuraddeen Muhammad, who ran for the PDP and got 107, 455 votes.
