State DPR Controller, Iliyasu Abdullahi, made the solicitation when he paid a courtesy visit to the state Commissioner for Police, Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, at the command headquarters in Bauchi.
The collaboration between the DPR and the police, according to Abdullahi, would not only help in the enforcement of the Department’s regulations but also provide security for the 528 existing filling stations across Bauchi State.
He informed that DPR always adheres to standard operating procedures while granting licences for the establishment of petrol and gas stations, adding that it is done to ensure strict compliance with extant regulations.
Abdullahi informed that Bauchi State had not experienced fuel scarcity in a long time due to the implementation of the operational codes coupled with the availability of registered retail outlets in the state.
While responding, CP Alabi expressed appreciation to the DPR delegation for the visit.
The police chief assured that the command under his leadership would ensure strong collaboration with the DPR to enable the Department to diligently discharge its mandate.
He, however, urged DPR to intensify efforts to check bad practices being perpetrated by some petrol stations in the state.
