The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has said it intercepted 73 locally manufactured guns and 891 cartridges at Yauri, Zamare waterside in Kebbi.
The Customs’ Public Relations Officer, Mr Joseph Attah, made this known in a statement on Monday in Abuja, NAN reports.
Attah revealed that a truck loaded with locally produced rice was also seized.
According to him, sacks which contained weapons were also hidden under the bags of rice.
“Three persons were arrested and detained.
“However, preliminary investigation is ongoing and they will be made to face the law.
“We appeal to the general public, to always provide credible information for effective border security,” he said.
