Armed Men Kidnap 7-Year-Old Girl in Abuja, Triggering Fear and Outrage

In a terrifying incident, a seven-year-old girl was abducted by armed men in Yangoji village, situated in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Suleiman Musa, a resident of the village, shared with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the culprits stormed the community early Wednesday morning. He recounted how the assailants disrupted the village’s tranquility with numerous gunshots before forcefully entering some homes and abducting the young girl.

However, the quick intervention of a police team caused the gunmen to hastily leave the village, Musa reported. As per sources, the Kwali Divisional Police Headquarters responded promptly to the distress call regarding the attack around 5 am on Wednesday.

It’s believed that the timely action of police personnel, local hunters, and vigilance members led by the Kwali Divisional Police Officer (DPO) prevented further harm to the community. The source confirmed that a gun battle ensued between the hoodlums and the security team before the kidnappers managed to escape with the abducted girl.

Presently, the security team is thoroughly searching the area with the intent of rescuing the girl and apprehending the culprits.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, when reached for a comment, stated that she would provide more details regarding the incident as soon as they become available.
