A policeman whose name is yet to be known, has been killed by a speeding truck along Owerri-Okigwe expressway in Imo State.
The incident took place Wednesday at Amalim-Atta axis.
Eyewitnesses told DAILY POST that the police officer was on his usual stop and search duty along the busy road when a heavy-duty truck rammed into him and crushed him to death.
A motorist said, “he was doing his normal job and when he waved the speeding truck to stop, it ran into him and killed him instantly.
“The truck driver did not stop but other police officers around followed him up.”
The Imo state Police Public Relation Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu who spoke to our correspondent said that the state command had been told about the incident.
He expressed regret at the ghastly accident.
