Transfer: Kroos reveals ‘everyone was happy’ when Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus

Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo’s shock exit from the club last summer “made everyone happy”.

Ronaldo left the Santiago Bernabeu after helping the Spanish giants win their third successive Champions League trophy.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner sealed a £100million move to Juventus and has since gone on to win the Serie A title in his first year.

Speaking to SportBild, Kroos admitted that while they missed Ronaldo’s goals, it was the right deal for each party involved.

“It would be strange if you didn’t miss someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, who has decided so many matches with his goals.

“His transfer, however, made everyone happy. He wanted a new experience and Real Madrid earned a lot of money,” Kroos said.
