Executive Secretary, Lagos Scholarship Board, Omotayo Fakolujo issued a statement announcing the release.

Fakolujo said it underscored the commitment of the state government to sustain bursary and scholarship programmes amid the economic situation in the country.

He noted that the Sanwo-Olu administration recognizes the pivotal role education plays in defining the growth and advancement of Lagos.

“Mr. Governor is committed to ensuring that Lagosians are empowered, through education, to contribute productively to the local and global economies”, Fakolujo added.

In the breakdown, N137,825,091 was released for 599 for local scholarship beneficiaries, while N157,093,205 would be expended on 4,341 beneficiaries of bursary.

The lucky indigenes were asked to exercise patience as necessary arrangements are being put in place to ensure hitch-free disbursement.
