The Police have arrested a suspected kidnapper for allegedly attacking a bus belonging to a commercial transport service, Delta Line, at Oben Community in Edo State.
Two other suspects escaped into the bush in the area.
The suspect’s arrest was made possible after the injured driver grabbed him with his last strength.
Passengers joined him as they beat the suspect to a stupor before he was picked up by the police.
It was learnt that the suspect and two others now at large had waylaid the Delta Line bus on its way from Asaba to Oben with a motorcycle.
The driver, it was learnt, summoned courage despite sustaining injuries to his head and grabbed the rider of the motorcycle, engaging him in a fierce fight until passengers joined while the others escaped.
The police are yet to comment on the matter.
