Nigeria vs Guinea: Atiku speaks on Super Eagles’ AFCON 2019 win

Atiku Abubakar, a presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reacted to the Super Eagles’ 1-0 victory over Guinea at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, on Wednesday.

A second-half header from Chelsea loanee, Kenneth Omeruo, ensured Gernot Rohr’s men qualified for the round of 16.

Atiku commended the Super Eagles for defeating the Syli Stars in Alexandra.

On his Twitter page, he wrote: “I am excited on our qualification for the round of 16 even with a game in hand. Slow, but steady, the Super Eagles are making progress. #TotalAFOCN2019.”

Nigeria now has six points, ahead of their final group fixture against debutants, Madagascar on Sunday.
