Naira Marley: EFCC confirms artiste arrest

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of Naira Marley, real name Afeez Fashola.

The artiste is being held at the EFFC office in Lagos with reasons unknown yet.

Tony Orilade, EFCC spokesman told DAILY POST on Friday that the commission will provide details later in the day.

“We shall be releasing a detailed statement on the arrest. For now, what I can tell you now is he is with us”

Marley, some days ago, called on Nigerians to pray for Yahoo boys rather than condemn them.

In a viral video, he said Yahoo boys are the reason why money circulates to the common man.

On Instagram, Music star, Davido posted Naira Marley’s picture and called for his release.

“MARLIAN !! Freee bro!!!! Nothing spoil!! I got u!!!”, he posted.

In her reaction, Nigeria Police PRO in Zone 2, Dolapo Badmus, mocked the artiste

“The only authentic NAIRA I know is Nigeria’s legal tender. Any other naira attached to something is a counterfeit!”, she wrote.
