Mikel Obi in shocking return to EPL after multiple offers

John Mikel Obi, former Chelsea star, is set to return to the English Premier League, EPL, this summer’s transfer window after spending six months at Championship side, Middlesbrough.

According to ESPN, the midfielder is considering multiple offers from clubs in the English top-flight league including newly-promoted sides, Norwich and Sheffield United.

The report claimed that the Super Eagles captain could make a decision before heading off to the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, with Nigeria in Egypt next month.

The 32-year-old left Chelsea on a free transfer to Chinese club, Tianjin TEDA in 2017 after spending ten years at Stamford Bridge.

“There are some options right now for Mikel Obi, and a few more we expect to see over the coming days,” a source told ESPN.

“Once all the options are on the table, he will make a decision.

“He will most likely make the decision before the Africa Cup of Nations finals, although that will depend on what is on the table.”
